SUNRISE AT ALLOURA WATERS

By Bobbie Barclay

No artist, however great,

could produce what I’m seeing this morning.

The sun has dressed in his golden best

and I’m here to watch him dawning.

His palette’s ablaze  with  multiple colours

there’s a shade of pink that I’ve not seen before

silver-tipped clouds in a buttermilk sky

and  Pollok-like splashes leave me asking for more.

Across the water his reflection shines

but the spectacular has to end soon

he is slowly climbing up high  in the sky,

he has to make way for the moon.

Not  one painting in all of this world

can begin to match Nature’s endeavour.

My own private miracle has just occurred

and will live in my eyes forever.
