FUNCTIONS OF THE HOSPITALITY SUB-COMMITTEE
The four members of this sub-committee carry out such duties as:
opening and closing the bar at appropriate times, being responsible for the
availability and cleanliness of all glassware in the Community Centre, staffing
the bar on special occasions and keeping the area clean and tidy. Under the new Liquor Act, retirement villages can now sell liquor to residents and guests at functions when the bar is manned. At other times a range of soft drink, spirits, beer and cask wine is available to residents, the costs being borne by the Residents’ Fund. Residents may also, if they wish, store their own supplies in the bar fridge.
