FUNCTIONS OF THE TRAVEL SUB-COMMITTEE

This sub-committee comprises three members and their duties are:

·        Day Coach Trips – choose destination, book coach, book cruise or other venue, book

     lunch (four trips done in 2008)

·        Short Tours – choose destination then liaise with coach company in the planning of the tour.  In 2008 we did two short trips, one to Orange and one to Hervey Bay.

·        Advertise day trips/short tours throughout the village and advise residents when they can put their names down. 

·        Attend the Community Centre at the advertised time to take names and collect monies

·        Deposit collected monies with the Village Treasurer for banking

·        Draw cheques from the Treasurer to pay coach, cruise etc

·        Go on the trips if possible to ensure smooth running, although this is not strictly necessary as, especially on the “away” trips, the coach company’s owner acts as hostess.
