Functions of the Village Forum
·
All residents of the Village are invited to a meeting held by the Residents
Committee on the last Friday of each month. This meeting is called the Residents
Forum.
·
Forum gives all residents the opportunity to speak out about issues relating to
the running of the Village.
·
At
this meeting a representative from each Sub Committee presents a report on the
activities of his or her Sub Committee. Our Activity Groups also report on their
activities for the month.
·
The meeting is chaired by the Residents Committee President, with the Forum
Secretary taking notes to issue minutes to all residents in the week following
the meeting.
·
Residents wishing to raise an issue or speak at Forum can do so by sending a
request to the Forum Secretary.
·
Business relating to the everyday running of the Village is discussed and
ballots are taken on various motions as required by the NSW Retirement Villages
Act.
·
The President will also discuss General Business that may have arisen from the
Residents Committee meeting held on the Monday prior to Forum.
·
Each month a representative of management is invited to address the Forum after
the close of business.
·
Management can only attend Forum by invitation and are never present whilst the
business meeting is going on.
·
The right to hold meetings without interference from management is enshrined in the
NSW Retirement Villages Act and our operator always respects these rights.
