Why Wyee?
Wyee Garden Centre is one of
the best nurseries on the Central Coast and that’s why it was a
popular choice for our half-day
Village
bus outing on Tuesday 6th July.
Our journey across the coast took us via Budgewoi where we enjoyed a brief stop with a warming ‘cuppa & bickies’ beside the lake.
Time flew at Wyee Nursery as we admired the beautifully presented plants
(many in flower) in pots and hanging baskets, in the display areas which abounded in water features, garden ornaments and statues.
Housed in a
spacious aviary with talkative cockatoos, a peacock and other smaller
birds was an enormous black rabbit with such long ears.
Our purchases of plants included flowering polyanthuses, pansies & violas and some dwarf, compact Chinese Lanterns (Abutilions) in delicate shades.
So that we could spend the little money we had left, we travelled home via Niagara Park for another brief stop…… at Sara Lee. Fortunately, it was still fine when we arrived back at Alloura Waters, making it easier to unload the Sara Lee cartons (small) and bags of potted colour etc without having to wrestle with putting up our dry umbrellas ….. once again we’d struck it lucky with the weather on yet another enjoyable Village outing!!
